Why are the seasons reversed below the equator?

south of the equator, i heard that it's summer there right now and during june/july, it's winter there and it snows. why is that?

Why are the seasons reversed below the equator?
because the earth is tilted
Reply:Because of the axis of the earth not the rotation but the axis

example put a pole through the earth so as to make a top as the top spins it will woble as it wobbles the northern hemisphear is further away from the sun than the southern being further away we get less light and there for we have winter the exact opisite goes for the southern hemisphere
Reply:Because when the northern hemishere is angled towards the sun, the south pole is angled away from it, and vice versa. This 23.5 degree inclination of the planet relative to the plane of the orbit around the sun is the cause of the seasons. All the extra light the north gets in the summer is light the south does not get, so north has a summer when the south has a winter.

The charts in the attached link are quite descriptive.
Reply:it is winter because when the earth is tilted away from the sun, the rays are not as concentrated and so the hemisphere is colder...

the other end of the earth is thus tilted toward the sun, and the rays are more concentrated and the earth is warmer.
Reply:the tilt of the earths axis... its 23.5 degrees i believe. Right now though they are getting the direct rays from the sun and we are not... Did you know the sun is actually closer to the earth when its winter here.... The earth's axis will shift and then we will have the direct sunlight when its summer here.
Reply:tilted axis of earth
