Because the brain associates words with the five senses. When I think of spring I think of rain or dampness. When I think of summer I think of heat. Same thing really.
Reply:They've done way too much acid. lsd. pink elephants
Reply:WOW never had that happen to me. Sounds exciting.
Reply:Synaesthesia is a neurological condition, which occurs naturally in many individuals, but is also a common effect of some hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD or mescaline.
Reply:I do this and I didnt know it had a name. I have this too with smells. Every smell I smell makes me think of a place I have been or a certain time in my life. Something else I do is when I hear news on the radio that is something of significance I try to remember where I was and what I was doing. I know I have done this since I was in the 3rd grade. I was there in class when the space shuttle Challenger blew up.
Reply:It's called synesthesia. I have it as well. Type the word into your favorite search engine; there's a lot about it on the web.
Reply:Because we're all crazy...
Reply:It's called associative thinking and somewhere along the line your mind has learned to link certain ideas or logos with the colors or images that represent them. Think of it as your own mental highlighter. Let's say the world is a book and certain things demand your attention more so than others you just highlight them. You bookmark it in your mind to make that experience a real one--everytime you think of it. Cool.
