Edmonton Canada?
Well, the planting season in Edmonton usually starts May long weekend, but it has been known to snow that late in May! You won't know what's going on in her garden until the snow melts. To know what will grow up here, check out the local nurseries. They have lots of experienced prairie gardeners that can give advice on what to grow. It is a short growing season here. Edmonton is around a zone 3a, some zone 4 plants will survive as long as they're protected over the winter. The good thing is that in the summer, the sun comes up really early (4 am-ish) and sets quite late. So there's lots of sunlight in the summer! It does get really dry over the summer, so choose drought tolerant plants.
Reply:My nephew and his wife live just up the road from your daughter, in Cold Lake.
Reply:Pick plants that have a short growing season. Temperate climate plants are best. You'll also see what kind of plants are in the gardening stores. They are the plants that grow well in this climate.
Reply:get a Canadian gardner in Catherine it will save you a headache a few dollars lighter but you'll get it right
