Should I sell my 1987 SAAB 900 Turbo?

I just bought this car last June for $1300. I have replaced the clutch, steering rod, alternator, and bought 4 new bfgoodrich tires. The main reason for considering selling is because I am moving to upstate new york and the car is in dire need of a paintjob or it will rust in the salt/snow. I don't have time to do this because I am about to go back to college next week.

Should I sell this car even though I am already considering buying another 900 very similar to this one?

I used to have that exact car, and I loved it! It hated me though. As much time and work as you've put into this, I think you should keep it. You don't have to worry about the salt %26amp; snow for a couple of months yet.
Reply:Yes, I am looking for a used car if you are close to louisiana.
Reply:If you plan on buying another one anyways,I personally wouldn't sell it.Instead,I would take it with me and just keep it clean until I could afford to repaint it.
Reply:yes the parts and labor are super high
Reply:if you are mechanically adept swap the best of old car to new if not leave it alone and sell. in 4 or so years you will be abel to purchase anything you want automotivaly speaking so think of purchasing a solid beater that will last min 1 year past graduation [honda civics are a good bet] just make sure the timing belt and water pump[t-belt driven] get replaced every 60k belt 120k pump

saabs are fun to work on and cool to drive but this will take away from study time good luck
Reply:yes...sell it to me!
Reply:So, now you have more than quadrupled your investment on this car and you are considering selling all the new parts you put on it even though you aren't going to get your money back out of it? I'd keep it, store it and use it for spare parts for the one you're buying (if they are compatible), being a saab you can be sure it's going to break down plenty on you
Reply:i think you should give it a shot. you could use the money.
