Oiler fans-how do you like Pronger now?

Do you think he fleeced the city of Edmonton? Do you think he has a right to move his family if they are not happy there?

In a related story, Alberta was hit by snowstorms over the last week. I am sorry, but if I am making a few million, I don't want to be digging out of snow in late May/early June either.

Oiler fans-how do you like Pronger now?
Unfortunate break-ups between teams and players often happen and I don't think there is anything that someone can do about it.

Chris Pronger is perhaps the best defensive player in the league and he was huge for Edmonton last year, but he wanted out. If a player wants out, the best thing a team can do is cooperate because they can't force the player to stay.

I think hardcore oilers fan will probably dislike Pronger right now, but if they are honest I don't think that they can blame him. People make choices and Pronger choose to leave and go to another team, it's tough but as a team and as fans you can't do nothing more than live with it.
Reply:Pronger is not the best Dman in the league "crosby87" he is 3rd behind Nik Lidstrom and scott neidermeiyer Report It

Reply:whats your point BOBBY?
Reply:I agree that it does suck to live in northern cities where it is cold and snows alot, I know I have lived in Milwaukee my whole life, but the fact of the matter is that Pronger knew what he was getting into and he shouldn't have signed a long-term contract if he wasn't ready or willing to make a commitment to the city. He should have discussed the move with his family first. Look at Biron when he was traded to Philadelphia this season, he refused to start negotioations for a contract until his family was able to come and see the city and give an okay. Chris Pronger was 100% in the wrong for demanding a trade, he made a commitment to the Oilers and he should have lived up to it. He doesn't have alot of character though so its not suprising, this is the same guy that refused to take any responsibility for his hit on Holmstrom and choose to blame the media instead
Reply:The Oil was well compensated for his departure. Unfortunately, it will be 4 or 5 years before they see all the fruits of that.

And yes as the guy above says he IS the best all round defenseman in the league.
Reply:Chris Pronger is the best defenseman in the league. He can do whatever he wants
Reply:we still feel the same about pronger. and he had a contract so yes, we could have forced him to stay. the sens did it with yashin a few years back

edit. yashin refused to play the final year so he could be a free agent after the year. It was ruled in court that he didnt play that year he signed to play for so he did not fulfill the contract and in order to become a free agent he would to play one more year fo ottawa
Reply:Pronger should get a life! I live in Edmonton but, I don't cheer for the Oilers anymore, especially after the Smyth trade * sob sob*.

There are many rumors going around about why he left. I know the truth though contact me and I'll tell you. Trust me this isn't a rumor this is dead true.
