I thought of getting a part time job but in my city, no one hardly ever hires a 16 year old. I have shoveled snow and cut grass, but I never made much money. I recently gave up a baby sitting job because I was only getting paid 20 bucks for working over 15 hours a week, watching my little cousin and he has mental disabilities. I have been searching for a job for over a month now. I make a great baby-sitter but a lot of people I know do not have kids. How can I earn $214 by June? Please help!
Ps. My mom does not give my money for chores, and that is out of the question.
How can I earn $214 by June [I'm 16]?
Put flyers up for babysitting and give out cards. Talk to anyone your parents know that may have children, or anyone that is in your neighborhood. You could also try dog walking. You just have to show that you are open and available and don't be afraid to talk to people that you don't know that you know have kids or animals.
Reply:Walk Dogs. Find local neighbors %26amp; do chores for them they will pay for. Pass our fliers for local businesses. Run errands for 'at home' mothers to free up some "me" time for them.
Reply:Just cause your 16 and no-one hires 16 year olds, doesn't mean they won't. Just show that you are enthusastic, mature and ready to work and they will most likely hire you. Just try anything to earn money. But most of all save. Don't spend a cent you don't have to. Don't turn any money down. If you see a phone, check it for loose change, look for work, offer to do other peoples work, like mowing the grass, pruning trees. Prove yourself as a capeable money earner and money you shall earn. People want to hire people who are willing to work, and no matter how hard the job is, if your willing to do it you will most likely get it....if you want it!
LOL good luck on your search, here's a star to get you started!

Reply:Get a job.
Go to a fast food restaurant, they'll hire you.
what do you need the money for?
Reply:If you can't get a job, then what about selling stuff you don't need on EBay?
= )
Reply:I would try and do odd jobs for those people that don't happen to have kids, like painting a fence, cleanin out a garage, helping an older person go grocery shopping, stuff like that. There are plenty of odd jobs someone would love to pay you for so that they don't have to do it... and you will have the money you need in no time.
Reply:babysit. $214 isnt that much and babysitting regularly will get you that and then some in no time.

Reply:I hate to be "that" person but be persistant. Keep looking for a job. I had to apply to a lot of places before I even got an interview. But the nice thing is, if you have a job that pays alright, you can make $214 in just a few weeks. I make $7 an hour and I work about 25 hours a week (I home school so I can work a lot). I know it's tough to get a job. Just keep with it. My friend put in 47 applications before he found a job (poor guy).
Reply:Wow, you're lucky you're 16. I'm 14 and I have a job in the city, and my next paycheck is gonna be for about 300$. I can't wait until I'm 15 though since then I can get a job at a clothes store. Basically any place in the city hires a 16 year old. And you should at least try since you never know.
