Snow in NYC?

I'm planning on moving to NYC in June 2008 and I'm wondering what the weather is usually like during the winter. I know there is no EXACT answer but if any of you live there what is your opinion? When does it start snowing and how long does it last? Do you think global warming is going to change the cold weather in NYC forever? I hope not! That's one thing I'm looking forward to about moving there!

Snow in NYC?
Well, it doesn't snow in New York City until January or February, and with it snow, this city gets dumped. Last winter, this city go almost 2 feet of snow. And just last week, this city go only 1 to 3 inches of snow. It gets cold after Christmas, and when it cold, you better dress warm. What I mean is dress in layers. Sweater, warmers, knit cap and gloves.

Good Luck
Reply:Well the past couple of winters its been getting colder later in the year. I remember last year, it was after xmas and I was out with flats and a light sweater. That has never happened before. But it still gets really cold and it can stay cold as late as April. January and February are the worst because there is pretty much no release with the coldness. But after that the weather starts to vary. One weekend, it can be freezing and snowing and the next it can be in the 50's.

But if its cold weather that u are looking forward to, you definitely wont be disappointed.
